Britain's leading aluminium shop display manufacturer has brought a splash of colour to the Black Country – helping convert old shipping containers into funky new market stalls.
Darlington-based MicroSlat International, the world’s leading manufacturer of aluminium point-of-sale display stands, help turn the unwanted containers into colourful new retail cabins as part of a major revamp for Wolverhampton Market.
As part of a city centre redevelopment, market traders have been provided with purpose-designed container ‘cabins’ fitted out to their specification as part of a council-backed initiative to give the outdoor market a colourful new look.
The cabins were created by Cheshire-based Whitecrate which specified MicroSlat’s aluminium slatwall display system to complement the premium fit and finish it required.
MicroSlat’s all-aluminium construction made it perfect for displaying heavy goods, such as large rolls of material, and its flexibility meant stall-holders were able to specify whether they wanted a container for retail space, storage or refrigeration.
Terry Dady, MicroSlat’s managing director, said: “One of the many benefits of MicroSlat is its flexibility – because it is made from high-grade aluminium it can be used almost anywhere – but this is the first time it has been used in a shipping container.
