Terry Dady, MicroSlat’s managing director, has decades of experience in the retail and display industry. When Elizabeths Embroidery asked Terry to help bring the company’s headquarters, in Stockton-on-Tees, up-to-date, he brought his wealth of knowledge to bear – completely remodelling the building’s interior and designing a new layout to make the most efficient use of the floor space and make the store more customer-friendly.
“The building’s layout hadn’t been extensively updated since the 1940s,” explained Terry. “We were looking for a similar feel to a modern high-tech sports clothing shop.
"So we removed interior walls to open up the space, added carefully-chosen mood lighting and gave the interior a welcoming ambience. When we had finished, it felt bright and airy.”
Terry used MicroSlat to cover walls fully in some areas of the store and created changing room facilities behind them. He also used the MicroSlat ‘SlimPost’ system in other areas of the store, which is a series of slim (80mm wide) MicroSlat columns. These are spaced out at intervals to accommodate garment rails, shelving, cascading clothing rails and hooks.
The way in which MicroSlat can and has been configured in this store, has created a spacious and modern retail environment. The staff can now create eye-catching displays in a matter of minutes, in a spacious and welcoming environment.

"The transformation of the business has been nothing short of incredible. The old layout was cramped and customer-unfriendly. The new one is a modern, pleasant retail environment. MicroSlat's display solutions give us the ability to showcase all our products which wasn't possible with what we had before."
